LIFE CAPTURED PROJECT

By Ronnie Mason
A graphic designer by trade, Ronnie's first loves are writing, photography and memory keeping. She lives in Sydney with her husband, Rick, and four of our five little boys. You can find Ronnie over at her personal blog, The Shoemaker's Daughter, a memoir named after her mother, and she is also the main author of the official LIFE:CAPTURED Inc blog - the place where you can find anything you need relating to photography, photo archiving and organising and memory keeping in general.

As some of you will know, I am a big believer in preserving our stories with both images and words. From big stories to little stories, from stories of heartache to stories that recount the most ordinary of moments, I believe in preserving them all.

I know, however, that finding the time to write is hard enough. What's often even harder is knowing what to write when you do actually sit down to do it. Which brings me to my little idea: The #lifecapturedproject.

Since December last year, I have been writing and sharing a list of journaling prompts every month on our LIFE:CAPTURED Inc blog in the form of a printable. The plan is to continue to do this for the rest of this year and potentially for future years as well. You are welcome to download the prompts, print them out, and stick them up on our wall or keep them in our journal. Use them to help you write your stories down. To capture and preserve what's true and important to you.

The journaling prompts also double as photography prompts because while we all know that images can bring forth words, we also believe the opposite to be true: Words can inspire images. To be able to turn your emotions and your memories into imagery - that is surely art in one of its purest, most powerful forms.

To encourage each other along, you can share your words and your images on Instagram if you wish by using the hashtag #lifecapturedproject. For those who don't have Instagram, we also have a monthly thread on our forum  which you can use to share your journaling or a link to your blog post.

The prompts for March can be downloaded here  or you can visit our Journaling page for an archive of all the past prompts.

I would love to hear from you if you plan to use the prompts! Hopes you all have a lovely month and thanks again to Em and her wonderful team here at The Beetle Shack for having me.
