Since I’ve been married, I’ve used Valentine's Day as an excuse to spend some quality time with my husband. We don’t give traditional gifts but we do cook a meal together, or if we are lucky enough we go out on a fancy kid-free date. Here are some lovely ideas for Valentine's Day and just life in general really!

1- Lemon Cake with Raspberries

If you haven’t had the absolute pleasure of stumbling across this blog then I highly suggest have a look right now. The pictures are just mouth watering! If I get a chance to cook this Valentine's Day this is what I’ll be making. Although I don’t think I’ll be able to get my hands on that 3 tiered Heart Shaped pan in time…

2- Cards with heartfelt messages of love and appreciation

Lauren’s designs are unique, simple and beautiful. Love goes in to the creating and love comes from the giving. Plus this download is free and super easy! You can give a card to everyone you know:)

3- Date Nights In! I’ll be wearing this:)

This Dress is just so elegant but I know It will be perfect for a picnic on the living room floor too!

4- Date Nights Out!

Last Valentine's Day I was lucky enough to be taken here. Or did I do the taking? It was EXQUISITE! You absolutely must try the Streamed Prawn Dumplings. They have restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

5- Useful Gifts

This 'Valentine's Day Love Bundle' is a LOVE filled alternative to the traditional Valentine's Day gifts. You can also have the ‘gift’ sent as an email which is helpful.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, advice and solidarity.
