WEARING | ANIMAL PRINT

By Emily Beetleshack
The original author of The Beetle Shack, Emily is a chronic over sharer and collector of unnecessary consumer goods. In a past life Emily was a high school Visual Arts teacher. She always enjoyed the ‘naughty’ kids the most; the ones who were resistant to following the rules and questioned the boundaries. They were interesting, challenging and funny. When she was pregnant with her first child she could be heard saying, “I hope I have a cheeky child, one that speaks his mind and is rebellious in nature”. Unsurprisingly, she did. In the archives of the Beetle Shack you'll find her tales of raising her own ‘spirited’ children whilst swanning about the house dressed as a fruit salad.

Animal print is one trend I can't go past. It's just SO easy to wear as hides the stains and truths of daily life at home with kids. It's timeless and can be worn casually or dressed up with the addition of heels and red lippy. When people suggest it's a neutral, they're correct. Team it with white, black, dusty pink, khaki or camel. This is definitely a trend that will be carried through into Autumn/ Winter collections.

  2. You rock that animal print! I especially love the Maxi dress! I don't have any animal print, but I have to say my favourite dress is a tan and black print that is very reminiscent of animal print!

  4. LOVE animal print, never worn it. So, I guess that means I just admire it?

I have had plans for a big roomy flowy animal print maxi dress (dang similar to the top photo!) for awhile now, but I keep forgetting about that project. Must get onto it because it's too hot to wear most of my wardrobe at the moment. The thing that puts me off is I HATE TURNING SPAGHETTI STRAPS. It's almost a deal breaker :P

  8. In the meantime, the pooch likewise figures out how to keep running behind the sham and take it back to you. Creature molded fakers are thought to be more viable and valuable if there should arise an occurrence of firearm mutts.
