STYLE FILE | EMBROIDERY

If anything is sure to catch my eye, it's the intricate detail of a hand stitched flower. Embroidered embellishment is such a beautiful art - one that different cultures have developed in their unique way throughout history.

The fundamental techniques and stitches used today are exactly the same as they were on the earliest surviving relics we've found from the past!  I'd love to try my hand at it one day..

  1. I love embroidery! Have not done it for about 20 years though... my grandma enrolled me in a sewing class one school holidays when I was a kid :) I wonder if I would still remember how to do those little flowers...

  3. Whether it is on clothing or household items, a little added color is always appreciated and stylish. Embroidery designs can be used to add beauty to almost anything. A tea-cozy an look great with small little flowers or fruit embroidery on it or a design of a small vintage kettle on it. You can similarly use a lot of embroidery designs on table cloths, table mats, wall hangings, dining table covers, bed covers, cushion covers, pillow cases, etc.click here
