As you grow {so do I}
I sneak into your room stepping over creaking floorboards, forgotten toys and unwashed clothes as they line the floor. It's with wonderment that I study your handsome angelic face, to think I grew you almost 5 years ago. You were tiny (except for your head, that was huge) and oh so determined from the very moment you took your first breath. And look at you now, the biggest brother to two little girls. Doting and protective. Eager to please when it pleases you and entirely dismissive when it doesn't. As I lean over your curling frame and pry carefully constructed lego from your love-grasp, I breathe you in. Long and deep.
My firstborn baby boy. Almost 5.
