As the days roll into months you grow and develop before my very eyes. You are alert, aware and abundantly flamboyant.
During the days you are content to watch your brother and sister as the tear around the house. They often pause momentarily to flap your arms like a bird, rolly polly you along the floor or sing you a snippet of whatever song is on their lips at the time.
Once night time comes around you can be found sleeping in your dadda's arms or resting snugly in the bed between us both. You nuzzle your face into the soft linen and close your peepers, if only for a couple of hours at a time.
Naturally, you delight us all with your eager giggle, tiny features and melodic coos but I'm sure you delight me most of all.
You, darling Elke, give me reason to pause. To sit and be still while the crazy continues to unfold around us.
You fit snugly in my lap while you feed, letting your hands wander and explore my face - my lips, nose, eyes and chin. Gently they go, searching searching.
