Wearing: Monochrome

On my last trip to the Art Gallery of NSW (over 2 years ago, oh the shame) I sported a familiar riot of colour and pattern with a head scarf to boot. If I remember correctly, my jeans were pink cord, my jacket a fabulous striped turquoise velour (seriously) and my favourite 1980's Ken Done silk scarf adorned my hair.

The walk from the Domain to the Gallery proved interesting. There I was, a dorky fruit salad amongst a sea of stylish black. How awkward.

Since that time, when having to leave the comfort of my sea side suburb,  I've sought the style advice of friends who are far more savvy than I.

Naturally, they suggest layers of black and grey in any number of luxurious fabrics- much like the outfit above. I'm slightly addicted to the massive hooded scarf and seriously comfortable printed tights- both organic cotton by NZ label Kowtow and deliciously soft to wear.

  3. I think you look gorgeous, but there's nothing wrong with a Ken Done scarf, or looking like a fruit salad. Trust me. Pretty much how I look every day and it's happy. You can't not be happy looking like a fruit salad.
