Wearing: The Greatest* 80's Knit Ever

A recent op shopping adventure bought this outrageous knitted jumper into my life and when paired with a leopard print hair scarf, it's sure to turn any bad mood around. As an added bonus, it covers a multitude of body image sins... and guess what, it's acrylic too. BAM. It doesn't get any more ridiculous than that! Naturally, it was the best option for my first day of solo parenting- when things get tough I can simply look in the mirror and laugh.

Wearing:

Jumper | Vintage Marco Polo
Jeans | Levis Skinnies (easily the most comfortable jeans ever)

*and when I say greatest, I am of course judging it by true 80's standards. Translation- fabulously heinous.

  1. oh it suits you! love it!
I was watching a show this week with jenny kee knitwear and I was thinking to myself where is all that knitwear these days. We need some big bright knitwear instead of all this black and grey.
I have a few 80's knitting pattern books and one of my faves is when the big jumpers with the animals knitted on the front (worn by adults) and this one has a koala with a bush hat on with the corks - hanging off the jumper! it's so bad that it's funny! worn with big dangly earrings, I don't think you could pull that one off these days

    good find

  4. Now I'm spewin I didn't buy the handknit with possum design I saaw in the oppie. I hope the acrylic is providing plenty of static for extra-high hair, and zapping children into line. :)sarah

  15. How did your first day solo go??
Like you lived about 3 lifetimes in one day?
Here's a truth...you'll get used to it and before you know it, you'll wonder what on earth you did all day when you "only had two" ;0

  19. I dream of finding one of these. Preferably two matching ones. One for me and one for him indoors! You know, to wear when my teen has her friends over and we want to embarrase her. These types of jumpers appeal to my inner Kath Day-Knight xo

  24. PS - I was scared to be on my own and I've only ever had ONE baby, let alone three of them. Boyo and I are baching it this weekend whilst the Welshman is wined and dined in corporate splendour for the first Lions test. So far, we've had leftover pizza for breakfast, stayed in our PJs until 12.30 and had McDonald's drive through for lunch at 2pm. I did however buy lots of fresh veg - for the bunnies! Tonight we're having a sleepover, just me and Boyo and a packet of NZ Twisties and a DVD in bed. Perfect!
