Ohh seriously, Rachel Castle - c'mon! Can you believe that Uber Rachel of Castle fame agreed to create a header for The Beetle Shack? I'm literally pinching myself.
Look at it up there in all it's colourful glory. It's magnificent!
I suspect you are already a fan of Castle linen. Perhaps you own some neon polka dotted sheets or a rich velvet duvet. Maybe a fruity pillow with a pom pom on top? A confetti garland or if you're really, really lucky, a Rachel Castle original artwork.
Castle Bedlinen was founded in 2008 as a one woman show. These days, while enormously successful, Castle remains 100% Australian made and owned. Each and every fruity cotton linen is made right here on our shores and each fun filled, decadent embroidered artwork is sewn by Rachel herself.
It doesn't stop there though. In 2012 Rachel Castle pulled together a solo show for Koskela. Think crisp white walls lined with neat rows of solid oak frames containing layers of pastel hues and serious neon pops. I don't know how she does it but Castle's work always get the balance right - just enough neon, just enough polka dots, just enough black, just enough blank space, just enough white - never too much of anything.
Rachel Castle is known for her use of vivid colour and mastery of neon but she should also be known for her great humility and generosity - Thank you Rachel for giving a little bit of your time and talent to The Beetle Shack. I'm humbled and honoured in equal measure.
Header design and drawing by Rachel Castle. Colouring and rendering by Lauren Merrick.
