A Wearing Roundup at 38 Weeks

Well, thats a wrap. It's been fun (not to mention awkward) to document the growth of this baby.

Dave and I have had many a laugh at my expense over the past 22 weeks or so - starting with the hilarious unveiling of my ham bone at 14 weeks to my more recent heated demands to 'just make me loooook GOOD' and his exasperated responses regarding the many and varied difficulties he was facing with his temperamental 'model'.

I'm over 38 weeks now and I plan to wear exactly the same thing every day until I meet this baby. That includes the largest pair of harem pants I can find, this wool cape c/o Fawn and Fox (thats my Pippi curled up under it in the image above and there is a profile shot on the 3rd row) and any range of stretchy, stripy t-shits in my wardrobe. It won't be glamorous but it will be comfortable.

I'll leave the wearing posts here for a while I think.  Dressing post baby is easily the least inspiring time in a woman's wardrobe while laziness (and breastfeeding) will ensure that i'll be carrying excess weight for many, many months to come.

  1. You make pregnancy look good Em :) Your photographer did a fantastic job also, always capturing your best sides! I remember only being able to get around in a pair of Havaianas throughout my pregnancy because my feet were too fat to fit ANY shoes! This was very distressing for me as I AM A HEELS/STILETTOS KINDA GAL! Enjoy your last few days in comfort...

  3. Pregnancy really suits you and you have managed to look very glam right throughout it all! I totally get what you are saying about Dave photographing you. My husband really dislikes taking photos of me. Not only am I always expecting that he will know the camera as well as I do (Me: "is the focal point lighting up?" Him: "Which one? Where?" Me: "Arghhhh!" ) but I keep asking him to take more until he strikes "the one". No wonder this fearful look creeps over his face when I hand the camera over to him. Poor guy.
I agree with post baby photographs. All of mine are of me with a very puffy face, MASSIVE boobs (not in the good massive way) and unwashed hair.

Enjoy wearing your comfy clothes right to the end :)

  5. You make pregnancy look so good!
And I hear you about the post maternity wear...I thought that I would be back in my old clothes with maybe a few adjustments for breastfeeding.
Ha ha ha! Laugh was on me!
I wanted to burn my post maternity clothes once I was finally through with them!
But I am sure you would make even that uninspiring period look good!

Enjoy the last few days of being a family of four!
I can't wait to "meet" Baby Beetle Shack!
