I've been waiting for weeks to pull this room together. The intention was to create a fun and flamboyant sleep and play space for our outrageous Pippi. With the help of Hide and Sleep, I think we've done it.
I'd been dreaming of polka dotted walls for a while, so naturally, they were first thing to go up- after we'd repainted over the stripes from the lady baby's last room of course.
Filled with fruity colour, toys and soft textiles, it's a space the kids have already delighted in playing. Whether it be hiding under the bed, making each other cups of tea, whipping up a cake or tucking teddies in for the night - they can often be heard giggling behind the closed door.
The recycled plastic mat provides the perfect 'shake clean' soft fall while the wooden mixer and vegetables are the perfect accessories for the $5 kitchen I picked up at a garage sale. Dave put the little wooden shelves up a 'child' height to encourage imaginative play.
Now that it's all done and dusted, I think Pippi can sleep in Zeph's room and i'll take over the Yellow bed, good idea, no?
Tomorrow, I'll be sharing a super exciting giveaway that includes many of the treasures you can see here. In the mean time, you can see product details below.

I dream of little girls rooms... our 3 boys are in together..6, 4 and nearly 2....
Their fanatical requests for all things sharp, bitey and dangerous is tiring!
Softness is lovely.
That kantha, divine. Lucky Pippi, she must have sweet dreams.
ReplyDeleteOh this is just wonderful Em. The colour and the light and the POLKA DOTS - the perfectly unperfect room for your little lady baby. It must have felt so great to stand back and admire your handiwork (and hard work) and then watch your beautiful kids enjoy the space the way you had intended.

Love this room! Room tours are one of my favorite things on the planet, so you had me with the title... but I adore the yellow bed and all of the fun color. Wonderful.

Wow, it's gorgeous! (I knew it would be.) I am so looking forward to knowing if this Babe is a pink or blue version - if it's pink I get to decorate a girls room!!! I've been squirreling treasures away for ages already in the hopes that Rosie and a maybe-sister would get a cute room - here's hoping! I LOVE that plastic mat, must go and check it out. Also, I would like to live in your beautiful, beautiful house. (Even when there's crumbs on the floor and permanent marker on the furniture, because then it would be just like home.)
ReplyDeletewhat a truly beautiful space. well done mama.
ReplyDeleteeee! such a fun lookin space. nice one em and jacinda. pippi must be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow bed! Now I'm inspired to paint my baby's cradle yellow :)
ReplyDeleteSo darling! How big are the polka dots? The website link shows 4 inch dots but your look a bit smaller? How far apart did you space them? Trying to figure out how many I'd need for my room :). Really, such a fun, fun space!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Beautiful. BEAUTIFUL! I have been looking at those Kith&Co rugs / mats for a while now - I haven't been sure whether they might look too plasticy, but it looks wonderful! I need one for our rumpus room, which is essentially the twinadoes' room of destruction. We sometimes get to watch TV in there, but usually I can't even face it. I think I'm sold! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the walls and the lamp!
ReplyDeleteYour Pippi's a very lucky girl! What a delightful space :)
