Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Crocodiles, snakes and spiders. Thats a bit more like it.

The kids loved our semi recent reptilian adventure filled with blue tongue lizard licking, mud trail trekking and emu petting.

The highlight though, was when Zeph jumped the fence into the Galapagos Tortoise enclosure. Seriously, he really did that.

I was just thankful it's wasn't the crocodile sanctuary.

Kids and reptiles- a winning combination.

In other news, thank you so much for your kind words on my last post. As always, I find such a supportive community here and as always 'you are not alone' is pretty much the single most comforting thing a person can be told.

Mum is getting better quickly... except for the arm in a sling for the next few months part, things are okay. AND my neighbour just bought me baked cheese cake for breakfast, so i'd say that's a win!

Today the kids, dave and I are going to do some crafty things at home and enjoy making a mess rather than tidying it up. I'll be sure to include some pics in my Weekly Stills.

See you on the flip side.

  1. Glad you felt the love. Reptiles and children do go hand in hand. My 9yo is bugging me for some sort or another. I could do a turtle, not a snake. But then again we have a lot of animals already in the house! Have a splendid weekend. xo

  2. That photo of Pippi holding on the fence - perfection! Glad it was the Galapagos area too....could have been nasty! What a beautiful place.
PS My comment to your last post would have been long and at times sad and I couldnt get the words out right but its enough to say have been there, many times. Its hard. But it will get better. You are not alone and you will get through x

  3. I love the top right photo! haha! Looks like a wonderful time!
I've started following your blog - not sure why I hadn't already - but it's in my feed now! :) Come say hi over at Just For Daisy sometime! :)

  4. That looks like such a great adventure!
I might have to introduce my little guy to reptiles...thanks to Finding Nemo he is obsessed with turtles!

    Enjoy your crafty weekend!

  5. Good to hear you are feeling better, and those little blundstones are to die for! I've got two pairs for Casper.

  6. Looks like it was a great day! You look gorgeous in that top photo, & Zeph jumping into the turtle enclosure - amazing! I was that same kid 20 years ago...except it was at Seaworld during the seal show.

    Have a lovely weekend, lady!

    Sar xx

  9. boy heaven and super great photographs, especially of you, love the first one of you especially! glad you are having fun with the boys xxxx

  10. Is this the one just before Gosford? Near Old Sydney Town? Haven't been for years and years but think I recognise those crocodile teeth & they had a boa constrictor, which left an impact. Years ago....oh boy! Love animal parks, such a fun kid & adult day out! x

  11. looks like my kinda day! beautiful pics xoxo
