THE ARTIST SERIES with LAUREN MERRICK

Happy 2013 and welcome to The Artist Series.

This series is about recognising and celebrating the creatives among us. It's about shedding a tiny bit of Beetle Shack light on contemporary artists, illustrators, designers, stylists and print makers.

Each month you'll see a new header at the top of this silly little blog, a header created by our feature artist especially for The Beetle Shack. I've been completely humbled by the response to this project with some people who I really admire (okay, okay- idolise) agreeing to come on board.

It's with great delight that I introduce you to our very first Artist, Lauren Merrick.

Merrick is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based on the east coast of NSW. Her love of colour and playful modern style is evident throughout her portfolio as is her ingenuity and adaptability. She is the talented beauty who designed a range of headers, buttons and the 2013 media kit for The Beetle Shack (if you'd like a copy, email me) and is a true friend of mine. She possesses skill and grace in equal measure but wouldn't breathe a word of either, such is her humble nature.

The header she has created for The Beetle Shack as part of The Artist Series is an adaptation of this work, one of a beautiful series exploring the muscle of the heart.

Lauren Merrick is available for custom web design, blog design, blog headers, graphic design and illustration. She plans to open an online store selling prints of her work in the near future. She is also a babe.

You can view her portfolio here and like her facebook page here. Please do view the sweet animation below while you're clicking about.

Thank you Lauren, you are amazing
