Close to Home

Last weekend we wandered further afield than we typically do, we splashed in puddles and breathed in the sweet scent of rain on the warm earth. Back at home, the house work was neglected and the washing remained untouched*.

This weekend we're planning to stay closer to home. The pizza oven is calling for it's final coat of lime render and the back yard is yearning for turf. So together we'll enjoy lazy mornings with coffee and jam  toast followed by our usual garden routines. No doubt i'll enjoy a brief love affair with the laundry and celebrate my new peg basket by hanging out endless loads of washing.

We might not tick everything off our never ending 'to do' list, but we will make a minuscule dent in between pausing for Ribena Berry cordial (my latest pregnancy obsession) and taking afternoon kips.

I'll keep my camera close by, ready to capture some stills to share on Sunday evening. I'm looking forward to seeing yours if you choose to join in.

What's on the agenda for your weekend? I hope it moves slowly for you.

Also, If you're not pregnant, would you do me a favour and have an icy cold beer for me?

*much like it does most of the time

  4. A quiet, unfilled weekend is on our agenda from tonight too and if I drank beer, I'd have one for you. Unfortunately I do not.

I'm loving your wallpaper in the second shot. We're thinking of adding a bit of wallpaper once we re-paint. Maybe that can creep on our never ending 'to do' list and get a look in this weekend.

    Enjoy :)

  5. You must need more vitamin C with those Ribena cravings! I always craved capsicums while pregnant, and later it was chalk. Have a nice one.

    Enjoy your weekend!
We have three Christmas parties to go to here...so we will have moments that aren't slow...but I am hoping that when we are at home things will be relaxed and easy!

  9. Yum! Ribena! Takes me back to my childhood! We used to drink it so concentrated it's sickening to think about it now :) I'll happily have that beer for you.

  12. I think we are in for a slow one this weekend too. Pottering in the garden, lawns, and bit of christmas crafting. Then we're all going to cram in our bed at 7:30 tomorrow night to watch the Wizard of OZ.

  18. I've been harbouring an addiction to Ribena for years - I haven't got a pregnancy to blame my craving on though! I haven't got a beer, but I could probably glug a glass or two of sparkling wine for you if you like? xx
