Notes From the Weekend (and your thoughts)
We have had a deliciously full weekend here. We've splashed in the ocean, made pizza's, caught up with family and shared a meal with beautiful friends.
We had an interesting 'park experience' this afternoon which has my mind in a spin. I'm sure i'll be unpacking my thoughts here later in the week (because I just can't help over sharing).
Also, I'm in the process of putting a post together on Sponsored Posts and c/o's (care of - when items are gifted). If you have any thoughts or questions you'd like answered, feel free to leave them in the comments section below, as always i'm interested to hear your perspective before I waffle on.
For now, i'm going to plonk my weary body on the lounge and find something trashy to watch on iview.
I hope you had a wonderful, rejuvenating weekend.
p.s seriously, when did my Lady Baby get so big? I mean, frills on her size 2 swimmers, what is she, 16?
p.p.s I love my family.

DeleteFamily is wonderful, isn't it. I'm still working on getting someone to 'like' the idea of number three...
ReplyDeleteLittle Lady baby is just scrumptious! I don't know what you mean by Sponsored Posts, I guess I'll leave that for the people who have blogs to comment. Love your photography, I really do wish I took a Tim Coulson course, Im happy with my snaps, creatively...but wish had more power of knowledge to use my manual settings.

Love your beach shots. Land locked in the middle of the desert in Alice Springs, they make me long for a beach day. As for sponsored posts, I have no problem with them as long as bloggers are honest & up front about it.
ReplyDeleteI had to read again when you mentioned Pippi was 2. Two?! Old enough for frilly bottoms apparently ;) x
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these photos look like summer! as in NZ late january summer! Was a bit of a grey weekend here but bits and pieces of sun too .. and some beach time although nobody was wearing frilly bottoms, swimmers were full-body-wetsuits only. It did look pretty enticing though ..

ReplyDeletelooked and sounded like a wonderful weekend! ours was spent at the beach as well but nowhere near as sunny!!
ReplyDeleteI think when it comes to sponsored copy you've got to embrace it. Don't be timid or apologetic in your approach. Own the fact that your skills have generated a brand that others want to associate with. Always respect your readership and sponsors by being exceptionally (even overly) obvious as to what is and isn't sponsored. Inject your remunerated work with the same passion that you put into your personal posts and the two should run seamlessly together. Be amazingly proud of yourself for all that you have achieved. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gorgeous weekend! Trashy TV sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to invite to join the Bosisto's giveaway at my blog, I have 4 lavender packs up for grabs here: http://www.underlockandkeyblog.com/2012/10/bosistos-lavender-giveaway.html
First up - your photos are just coming along leaps and bounds!!! WOW WOW WOW.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to hear what you've got to say about sponsored posts. I like a sponsored post to be labelled as such - but beyond that I'm pretty happy.
I agree with candice - you should be proud that you've got companies wanting to be associated with your blog.
I think sponsored posts definately have their place. If they don't send it to you (or another blogger, but let's use you as an example) and you don't review it then I might never know about it. I've come across brands (like horse shoes) that I didn't know about just by reading your blog. You styled them nicely and now I've got a pair on my wish list ... so that's good sponsoring. Plus, I'm thankful because I like supporting Australian companies so not only is it good sponsoring on their part (for people buying their products) but I'm a happy reader for knowing about their company.
But I'd be interested to know more about how it works ... like do they approach you? Do you have a look at their product and only write a sponsored post if you like it? If you think it's ordinary do you just send it back? Or are you still obligated to write something nice ...
Love her frilly bottom, love his stripy tush.. love your little family x
