Last day of the school holidays

Hello there Friday, you beautiful thing.

Happy last day of the school holidays, friends.

We've spent the majority of the past two weeks playing in the sand pit, tinkering in the garden and working on the wood fired oven. Dave had a couple of extra days off work and while i'd love to say we've been traveling at a more relaxed pace than usual- we haven't.

Gosh we've been busy.

There have been functions to attend, a marriage to celebrate and completely glorious weather to take advantage of. We've spent days at the beach, caught up with friends and feasted on roast pork and lemon meringue pie for Dave's 30th.

This weekend we'll be madly putting the final layers of clay on the oven (I'll post some pics asap) and preparing the front garden for Dave's party next weekend. We'll also be preparing the way for some heavy machinery arriving on Monday. Our back yard will finally be landscaped and I can't wait to show you the progress.

You know when you feel like life is a treadmill - your sweaty, stinky and puffed but you just can't seem to find the off switch. Yeah, thats our life at the moment.  The endorphins will keep us going for a little while longer, but soon enough, we're going to need an extended period of rest.

In other news, one of the very exciting little projects I've been working on will be revealed on Sunday.

That's probably the only worthwhile thing i've mentioned in this post.

wow. that was so boring.

  4. Our lives are the same way at the moment...I wish I could see a rest in sight!
I keep thinking to myself, these next four weeks will be insane but then after that things will settle down...but they never do...and the following weeks are just as busy!

Looking forward to the project reveal!
    Have a great weekend!

  10. Is that a rashie Lady Baby is wearing? Very sweet. And I didn't think this post was boring, just a sweet little round-up of everyday life, told with your characteristic story-telling way. Have yourself a lovely little weekend.x Laura

  12. The weather has been so good these holidays! Life gets ridiculously busy and suddenly you're swept up in craziness and there's no time to stop. That's what lies ahead for us, so I'm taking things very slow right now in preparation..
