The other night I had the pleasure of attending the launch for IKEA's new outdoor range. It was held at Cockatoo Island on Sydney Harbour, a striking venue that is known (to me at least) as being one of the venues for the Sydney Bienale.
In fact, the last time I was on that Island was with a group of year 10 and 11 Visual Arts students to view the exhibition of cutting edge contemporary art. They were my favourite ever group of students* so it was with fond memories that I stood upon the windy Island to sip cocktails and talk IKEA.
I schlepped about amongst the trend setters and uber styles in my daggy denim and sloppy jumper (i really was under dressed). We ate wood fired pizza straight from the oven and talked over the benefits of affordable, adjustable and durable out door furniture (amongst other things).
Thanks for having me, IKEA.
You can view the new outdoor range here. I've got my one eye on a few things for when our landscaping is complete!
Tonight, Dave and I shall party again (like it's 1999, sing it with me). A garden party in the rain here at home (eep). We've optimistically fired up the pizza oven so I'll keep you posted. Wish me luck.
oh and while you're clicking around, please do enter our kids bedroom giveaway valued at $1600
* can I say that? They really were the most engaged, creative, naughty bunch of students. I truly did adore them.
