Melbourne

Oh Melbourne, you beautiful, smokey, grimy city. You really are lovely with your long ally ways, cheap cafes and container bars.

On Thursday, Tessa and I headed to Melbourne for three days of work and play. We wandered the streets, stumbled upon amazing places to eat and discovered the best cocktails in the city, of which we consumed more than one. We shared tales of past, present and future, went to bed late and rose after the sun. It was awesome.

Each and every day I opted to leave my camera at the hotel only to turn around, walk back and retrieve it. I'm still learning the functions of my new Canon but these are my humble shots.

Later in the week i'll show you some of the delicious products we saw at Life Instyle.

Tell me you had an awesome weekend, go on. Tell me the very best thing you did/saw/ate, Go on.

Best thing I ate was those Canadian pancakes you can see right up there. holy.cow.amazing.

Now it's time for a cold beer and catching up on these Aussie tales written by one of my favourite friends.

  2. The best thing we did was spend an hour or so with Baby C's godfamily...with my family so far away, having a pseudo family right around the corner really means so much to me...and their love for Baby C is just amazing.

And the best thing I ate are the brownies I just made...I am in the midst of a brownie bake off...my friends have all contributed their recipes and I am going to bake them all to find the best brownie! Results will of course be posted on the blog!

Glad you had such a good trip!

  10. Canadian pancakes look incredible! I just love your photos, you seemed to have figured out the Canon pretty easily if you ask me. I did have an amazing weekend, in spite of a psycho rant that inspired today's post ;-) The best thing I saw was my boys riding their bike and scooter today, SUCCESS! Finally got them out in the sunshine, yay!

  11. The best thing I ate was red lentil and rice patties with coconut mint sauce. I miss Melbourne (visiting, that is!) The best thing I did was listen to my baby "talk" - he's been doing it for about 4 days - and catch up with family and friends.

  23. hey! Nice to know you were in melbourne the same time as me. I didn't end up getting to the trade fair. I went to private showings, and then hid up ally ways with friends eating amazing food, and training around the tan track, and along the yarra. I am glad you had an awesome time. I too loved it. Melbourne is a beautiful city xx
