Fruity Decor: Lounge Room Update

holy moly

I love bright colours like I love the summer sun, a great tan and ryan gosling my husband.

When it comes to interiors, colour is key for us here at The Beetle Shack. So, i've just added some Otomi's to my collection of over the top lounge room decor - they are hand made, fair trade and true fruity treasures.

I found them at The Toucan Shop whilst browsing. They import all of their products from artisans in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico and Guatemala to Australia. Their aim is to support these small groups of artisans to help them maintain their traditional cultures.

These products are delicious, my friends, and seriously well priced.

Since i've been looking into eating ethically*, I thought it would be interesting to explore shopping in a broader sense, ethically. I'll let you know when I find more products that are either traded fairly, organic or ethically sourced/produced.

In the mean time, please do visit Marvin and Anne over here.

*we're still eating organic and local for the most part. Life has been crazy lately but I promise to get the rest of those 'ethical eating' posts up!!

  1. Yum, I love it! I pinned this very cushion on pinterest quite a while ago, intending to purchase it one day, something about that ethnic/colour arty look. I like how you're picking up the colours in your picasso and Loveheart art thingy too.

  2. So nice! That table arrangement would last about ten seconds before being thrown to the ground over here but it looks lovely!

  10. I love all the bright punches of color. I've got some blah brown couches right now and need to spice them up. Colorful pillows and throw could do the trick. :)

i love the idea of ethical shopping! i'm starting a fall/winter garden, not really counting on it to produce actual veggies to live off of only, but will be fun to see what comes of it!
