Since then, the Picasso has been framed and hung, the sideboard is in position and I have managed to source the most MAGICAL cushions imaginable from a beautiful Etsy store (more on them tomorrow).
please excuse the less than exceptional photo's
We are yet to decide on a fabric to reupholster the chairs in. For now they are covered in scarves.
It's still got a long way to go, a yellow Juju hat must be added, the artwork above the sidebaord would be better if reframed and we still need to find the perfect fabric for the chairs.
Any suggestions?
What do you think?
Needs more texture, more print, more colour?
(oh, what do you mean you don't care? Does my decor not interest you? How strange!)
Love it all, it looks fantastic. Love the scarfs on the chairs, think you should go for a black and white print - maybe chevrons?

Love the rich colours of your new cushions! I'm liking the black & white on one of the chairs, and I'm wondering where that beautiful heart and the colourful diamond artwork is from????
ReplyDeleteI love how you have picked out colours and pattern that work so well together. Its fab! I am a massive Florence Broadhurst fan for the fabric and also Heather's beautiful designs at Skinny la Minx. Hope that is helpful! Jo x
ReplyDeleteThe black and white scarf looks awesome on the chair...do something similar for shiz
ReplyDeleteI agree with Fsn. Black and white print for those chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a yellow juju as well - you should definitely get one. Would you put it to the right of your collection of frames, kind of in the 'middle' of the lounge and the dining area?
Love the cushions and the reframed Picasso.
A bigger frame above the sideboard would be dandy. I shall mull over this as I drift off to sleep tonight...

You know what? I love it! It feels so homely.
ReplyDeleteThat black and white scarf on the chair looks ace, I would get a material like that to cover them in.
Good job lady!

ReplyDeleteI like how you have done it up - very nice and neat! You do need to upholster the chairs soon I suppose :)

Looking good Em. Looking. good. Loving all the pops of colour about the place. Though I think a permanent splash of black and white could be a good thing, can't really go wrong with that xo
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome, your house is awesome, that lounge is awesome, rug awesome, sideboard awesome, replica dining chairs AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteEverything ... awesome!
I also thought that the black and white was really good. I like the way that it offers such a great contrast with the rug and allows the clours in the room to sing out. The black & white fabric also links to the dining area but doesn't look at all matchy matchy.
ReplyDeleteLove it all!!! Cushions are great...I think you need a retro/floral patterned one in the mix though;) Where did that Kilim rug go? Is this the underside of it? I like this rug better anywho.

You have a lovely eclectic mix going on! lovely :) I love all the pops of colour.
ReplyDeleteI love retro stuff and the vintage stuff. I love to sew and craft and I'm new to blogging and would love for you and your friends to join me. www.sewcraftykathy.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous. If you can find fabric close to the scarves I would recover the chairs in that.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking fabulous. I personally love your choice of dining chairs. Am currently trying to convince my other half that this is they way to go for us.
ReplyDeleteLooks great and if it feels like home and a place you can relax and be yourself in, even better. Flowers. Oh, and flowers. Every lived in house has to have flowers. If you're ever past mine go clip yourself some purple salvia from the front yard. It's heaven at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI love your choices!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get your mat from?
The cushions and prints really brighten up the space. Very much liking it. But where did you get that amazing rug??
ReplyDeleteI'm going to suggest you re-upholster the chairs in a delicate sea green velvet and you buy a vintage trunk for a coffee table. The stack coffee table books on top of it and you also probably need a 40's style retro lamp to hang over the couch. Keep the graphic black an white print as a throw option. Ahh...this is so much more pleasant than work!
ReplyDeletelove love love the simplicity & cosiness of it! very inspiring :)
ReplyDeleteIt's GORGEOUS! I like your taste. Good balance of colour and calm, light and dark. Love that rug. We have those Eames dining chairs but with the metal legs (wanted the wooden legs but they were twice the price!). You have a beautiful home. xx
ReplyDeleteoooh i love it i need to know where your rug is from?
ReplyDeleteLove love love it. What a fab home. Now I have some ideas! x
ReplyDeleteMy first thought - the black and white diamonds are perfect! Seems I'm not the only one :) Some of the ikat prints in that divine glorious etsy shop (that I may have drooled all over when no one was looking) are exactly right, although you would need a more hard-wearing fabric. I like the touches of green brought in through the artworks and cushions it anchors the green sideboard perfectly (without being too girly!). I love the idea of a really funky big lamp too, flea market hunt maybe? Can you have pot plants inside? A lush, large leaf like Strelitzia nicola or a fiddle fig would be very tropical :) I think it's coming along great!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteFabric for the chairs.....Check out the Warwick for fabric for your chairs or check out this on Pintrest http://pinterest.com/pin/53269208062277222/ I love the side fabrics she has used it is Warrick and comes in a range of colours and the owner has two young boys!!
QUESTION Where did you get the fabulous floor rug from???
is that an IKEA rug? How are you finding it? I am contemplating one for my lounge room .... i have the same couch as you and like the combo ...
ReplyDeletePS I think Amy's idea of a trunk coffee table is perfect - 'filling' that space with something useful an making it a 'room'.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your space. The Picasso, the sideboard, the cushions and the comfy cosiness of the couch. I dream that one day my house may look as lovely as this.
ReplyDeleteWhere oh where did you snap up that rug? It is gorgeous! I have been trying to find a rug in those colours but keep hitting a brick wall.
