Kilim Perfection

Like I said yesterday,I have finally found the perfect rug to compliment this side board.  After weeks of searching online, begging friends if I could buy theirs and trekking through large commercial retailers I decided to give eBay go.  It wasn't long before I found Innova Wares and their delicious collection of genuine Turkish kilims. The vibrant colours on this one won me over and I only had to wait one sleep until it arrived on my door step. I managed to resist the temptation to add this woollen kilim bag to my cart also (best winter bag ever?)

The quality is outstanding, especially considering some I looked at in other large retailers were triple the price and seemed to be little more than a piece of fabric.  This one is beautiful thick, soft wool. Call me crazy but I'd even throw it over the bed or the couch during the winter months.

What do you think friends?

  4. It's beautiful. I had been on a rug hunt for many months, it's so hard to find a great design that isn't horrendously expensive or made of horrible acrylic. I was particularly inspired by the rugs available on anthropologie but unsurprisingly couldn't afford them - even if they did ship to Australia. I actually ended up getting one from Ikea, amazingly, which I love. It's thick tufted wool and super soft.
So understanding how hard it is to commit to a rug, well done!

  7. Great choice. I think it complements the rest of your house really well! I just love kelims and almost bought one for our new home but decided it was wasted on our play room - will save our pennies for one down the track for our lounge! Have you heard of Loom Rugs? I want to buy ALL their kelims!!!

  12. well this has surprised me. A kilm - I wasn't expecting that. I thought it would have been a fluffy flokati (60/70's) inspired one - or a black & white graphic print. But hey don't listen to me- cos this one totally rocks it. I can't wait to see what you do next. What fabric did you decide to cover the chair in?x

  17. Perfection. Plus, as an added bonus I've always been a fan of a rug that can be washed if needed (can you tell I live with a dog?).
