Mother Love

Tonight, I sat on the bed with the windows open and the sea breeze on my skin to feed the Lady Baby. Zeph splashed about in the bath for a while until he noticed the lack of activity and scampered out of the tub to snuggle in. I whispered,  'ssshhh, I'm just feeding Pippi so she can go to sleep'. His face softened  and his pace slowed. After planting a sloppy kiss on my lips he looked at his little sister and then back to me - 'I love her mum' he softly said before announcing that when she woke up in the morning he could 'play with her again' and that would make him 'so happy'.

My heart exploded right there in my chest. This boy is growing up, times like these are but a distant memory. 

I see a new tenderness in him and can't help but feel proud.

  7. That is positively gorgeous! I remember my son saying things like that about my daughter when she was a baby. So so sweet, brings a tear to the eye.

  19. My heart melted just reading this post. What a sweet boy. I'm only a mama of one for now, but I can imagine that must be the most beautiful thing: seeing your kiddlywinks 'just be' together and watching all that love!

  23. Ahh that is so lovely. We're not quite at the 'I love you stage yet' with my eldest, but just watching him kiss and cuddle his baby sister all day is pretty damn cute. Lovely! x

My favourite part of the day is the morning when baby wakes and I bring him into our bed to feed, then I hear the pitter patter of footsteps as Mr almost 4 comes in and snuggles with us...he always says something beautiful like....oh little Leo is so precious Mama....look at his little nose....moments like that make me melt, I know how you feel!

  27. This is why i want at least 2 kids. We're trying for our 1st now but hubby only wants to have one. He said it's so we can afford to buy it everything it wants & needs. A child doesn't need a tonne of stuff, the love of a sibling is surely the greatest gift.
    Your 2 little ones are very lucky to have each other.

  32. Those moments are beautiful, I'd like to bottle them up as soon as they happen, just to relive them again and again. It is wonderful to witness the development of their minds and feelings. Big brothers can be the most fantastic people in the world and it sounds like you're raising one right there Em :o) xo
