And So I Sit

We have been pretty snotty here at The Beetle Shack. More snotty than ever before and it's been a challenge.  Today the Lady Baby is extremely clingy, crying every time she is put down.

So I sit here, amongst the squalor and hold her while she sleeps. My hot coffee goes cold but I don't mind, grateful to have some quiet moments with my baby. Quiet moments when she still wants to be held, hear my heart beat and smell my (rancid) breath. And I think 'I wish I could just pic that tiny booger from her perfect nose without waking her up'.

  3. We are clearly living parallel lives - I held a little snotty Everly on me for her morning nap, and I too had to refrain from booger picking. Love it. Hope you all get better soon! x

  12. Oh, it's just so tempting! I remember when my firstborn had one, I realised that it was my every right to pick it, because I was his mum.

How liberating! Now I can't stop. And he's five...

  13. Oh, she is precious Emily :o) I totally know how you feel about loving to hold onto them. I do it every night with my babe before he falls asleep. Bottle in my arms, asleep in my arms and I watch him... in my arms. It only lasts but a moment, then they're big people. Hope lady baby gets better real soon xo
And I SO know what you mean about getting those little boogers out of their tiny schnozzers ;o)

  16. Emily, what a beaut you have there... booger and all. Oh what precious moments...even when something more or less pressing pulls us in another direction, the peace that comes with being held prisoner by a baby wanting/needing to be held--well, it is priceless. I hope you all get to feeling better soon... in the mean time-enjoy-as I know you do!!

  18. Her jumper is the bees knees. Love.

My mum hated the word snot; we had goolie-gobbles instead (oh so fancy).

  19. You crack me up! I know all about that booger that you desperately want to remove but can't get to for whatever reason... I have to agree with you: those moments when they still want to be held do pass by way too quickly.
