Thrifty Finds

There is nothing quite like vintage Tupperware in PERFECT condition.  These three beauties were sitting quietly amongst the other plastics just waiting to be bought home to The Beetle Shack.

The brightly coloured fabric is a curtain that I plan to use to make some little dresses and bloomers for the Lady Baby.... any other suggestions for what such bright fabric could be used for?

Did you find any second hand pearls this week?

If so, link up here

  8. I love old Tupperware and I agree it is hard to get in really good condition. I think the curtains would make a great library or toy bag, if you have any left after the pants.

  9. Omigosh that tupperware brings back memories. When I left my hometown I had to sell off a lot of my stuff at a garage sale.(I was travelling and had nowhere for storage) Included was my huge lot of tupperware ala 1970s and 1980s era.I think I sold most pieces for about 50 cents each!Of course I've had to replace a whole lot of tupperware now. It's amazing to see the vintage stuff so popular.
Wish I still had my old stash!
The fabric is gorgeous. Big floor cushions would be fun if you have enough left over.

  12. what brilliant finds! love the tupperware. whisks me back to being little too. i'm sure the fabric would be great as a little cushion cover...even if there is only enough to do a front piece and back it with a plain bright colour? i feel quite envious...i'd love to go and rummage around the charity shops but have to have a big clearout myself first!

  13. I always loved the shininess of new Tupperware..I think that is what kept me buying it over and over again over the years, going to a party and seeing all that shiney new Tupperware set out beautifully on a table and listening to the lady telling me how I just had to have it!

  22. My MIL has that exact Tupperware set! I love it when she uses them to package up food for us. Not sure if it's the Tupperware or the grub I like most, lol. I'm always on the lookout for one of those yellow Tupperware colanders, alas haven't been successful yet.

My first thought was big floor cushions with that fabric.
