  1. You are a Tupperware ladies dream.... or nightmare, depending on whether she could get her hands on your cupboard or not!!! I think it looks fabulous and I'm betting you still know where everything is?!

  2. I'm fascinated by other people's 'real lives', so this is like porn to me. I see you like to buy your spreads in bulk and you obviously don't have a pantry moth / ant problem like I do. NOTHING can be in an open packet and survive. That's the only thing that makes me decant. x

  5. I can totally relate! We have a whole walk in pantry that looks like this, needs a major overhaul. I don't like the Tupperware look, its expensive and a bit ugly. We have lots of old canisters which are much prettier,if not as neat. I do have 3 big plastic tubs - one for pastas, one for rices and one for pulses. I inherited some 70s Tupperware from my nanna just like your thrifty find - beware they do leak if you're carrying soup or sloppy stuff.

  6. So glad I am not the only one with a pantry that looks like this. Actually we don't have a single pantry cupboard. My pantry supplies are spread out over a few cupboards but they all look like yours and you stand back when opening the doors! Our tiny 1950s kitchen just doesn't have pantry space. Eventually we hope to get a pantry specific cupboard. We just have to figure out where we can make a space for it.I'd love to have everything in glass jars...maybe someday...

  7. Now be honest...did you actual sneak into my pantry and take a photo of it instead of using your own?!! We have almost identical pantry's right down to the rafferty's rusks, the red kidney beans and the old el paso box on top of the greens box!! I am a nightmare, I have mountains of tupperware...in a drawer...handy place to keep it...

  9. It's a very therapeutic exercise. You could always play date bingo and work out what's the longest expired item in your pantry?

One things that is fab for slowly cleaning it up and looks pretty is gathering yummy jars from charity shops and using them to store stuff.. they stack well and look way prettier than tupperware xx

  13. Crikey! I though my cupboards were bad :) only joking, I'm notoriously terrible at putting things in cupboards and drawers and am constantly getting told off about out of date food in the fridge xx

  19. Don't worry Em! Spring is on it's way. You can clean it then should you choose to. Mine looked pretty much like that before I got to it for our house inspection the other day!

  20. Just read Bron's comment and had to giggle.
It is refreshing to see a real pocket of someone's life when there is such a proliferation of 'to die for' gorgeous design blogs out there.

Since becoming a step-mum and inheriting a family of messies, I've found Howards' storage world fridge baskets with a handle are THE BEST thing ever for both the fridge and the pantry. Even with two teenagers, a little boy and Captain V running rampant these spaces seem to stay reasonably tidy. Happy day Lovely,

  21. The OCD in me is really wanting to visit you and 'help' you out. I'm a bit of a tupperware queen, and would have that tidied up in a jiffy!

Mind you, I also have a new kitchen, which definitely helps me have less things falling out when I open the pantry.

Oh, and you want to see my anal retentive pantry? http://kympiez.blogspot.com/2011/08/this-saturday-im-grateful-for-beautiful.html

Yes, I'm SO a neat freak. Love your reality check though. LOVE it.

    xx
