Adult Adolescence

Rebellion is really simple these days.

Dave and I stayed up late last night, a result of our recent discovery of channel 9 on line. Did you know you can watch 'The Block' on your computer? For a T.V-less home thats pretty bloody exciting news. Kinda... the whole point of not having a TV was so we couldn't actually watch TV, but whatever.

So anyway, our usual bedtime rolled around but we decided that as adults, we could stay up late and watch a few more episodes. So we did. And the kids woke at 4.45. Excellent.

There always were consequences, weren't there. Exhaustion feels worse than it used to.

Tell me, how do you rebel?

  1. This made me laugh! The Block is SO addictive but it's amazing how kids just know when their parents have had a late one!!

  4. same goes for the entourage series around here. we have to restrict ourselves to weekend nights and enforce a curfew, or else we'd inhale them all in one sitting. . .

  5. I always do that and regret it. Stay up too late, watch too much tv, drink too much wine, eat too much food, spend too much time on the computer.. so rebellious i am.

  6. Oh my word, there are ALWAYS consequences. I kick myself daily for staying up so late blogging most nights. Fool I am! You're so good not owning a tele though, that is serious restraint :o) xo

  7. I rebel by not cleaning the house for weeks on end just because I can, staying up way too late, and being late to work. It's my way of sticking it to the man. Actually, all are horrible habits that I need to work on haha!

We too have no TV (it's been 7 years ago) and we too watch series on the computer. Staying up late? We love it! Knackered when we wake up? Oh, yes!

    Have a rad week.

ps Have you seen Poet yet?

But yes, oh my, The Block is addictive. I LOVE it. I will be devastated when it is over in just one short week :-( Josh and Jenna's home is my dream home. I LOVE their styling.

  14. No TV?... I have one set of mates who don't but they are sports nuts so never home.. how do you survive.. pretty well apparently.

The block has been so addictive and I am loving Renovators(hubby not so sold, sorry Olive).

Josh n Jenna for me for sure... love everything they have done.. The girls house is good but a little to straight out of a mag and high street for me..

Rebellion?...that's my old life and the rest I am saving up for when I can turf the kids out of the house for the day x

  18. I don't mean this in a rude way, but how is it different watching iView or The Block online and having a tv?

    ReplyDelete
  19. of course you don't mean to be rude anonymous, thats why you chose not to comment under your own name ;)

the difference is that i don't have to watch adds... oh and the fact that i don't actually have a T.V.

  21. Ohhh where do I begin. Theres a tv show called Made In Chelsea in the UK, it's so bad it's good and you can watch it on http://www.channel4.com/programmes/4od
Another show I love is New Girl with Zooey Deschanel, this is just great and I think you can get it on the same site.
Can you get Netflix in Australia? It's pretty cheap and you can watch EVERYTHING on there. It's the homeland of trash tv.
Hope your little family of 5 is doing well and you're managing to rest too.

  22. We have a tv, but no aerial... so yes, iview has it's limits! Mmmmm.... Downton Abbey is a no-brainer... Rebelling... mmmm... probably when I swear - I feel very naughty!

  23. we don't have TV either. I watch a couple of shows online but it has meant I watch MUCH less TV. The kids still watch movies so it's not as though we are a 'no screen time' family. How long have you been TV free?
