When the weather is magic, and we can't bear the thought of hanging around the house while the kids are sleep (optimistic, but it does occasionally happen), we throw them in the car and go driving. It doesn't matter where - as long as we can grab a coffee we're happy. Today we ended up at a secluded beach side town that holds a pub with the best imported beers around (since the Elephant and Wheelbarrow at Paddington shut down).
They taunted us, those beers.
With two sleeping tots in the car we opted for a coffee to go and found a spot in the sun to read our books. Naturally, once the car stopped the lions awoke. Time to meander down to the waters edge, climb some trees and pick some flowers.
I love days like today; no plans, no commitments, no rain. Just us.

ReplyDeleteI hardly remember when I had children who have a daytime sleep. Both my oldest (Max) and youngest (Badoo) dropped their daytime sleep at... wait for it... 20 months. Yes. That young.
Cappers slept on until just before 3 and that was it. Sigh. x
