Okay, You Win

Today beat me. To a pulp.

It was relentless and I lost my temper more than once.

Cat Stevens to the rescue. A drive to the ocean (my place of refuge) and the stero SUPER loud did the trick. My children are crying? I can't hear crying! Moments later and they are asleep while im looking at this magic and the sun is warming my face.

If you've had a crap one, let this tune cheer you up

Oh and please, if you need a laugh- read this over at Potty Mouth Mama.

  1. What a perfect way to end a crappy day. And how therapeutic is singing at the top of your lungs! I do it A LOT.
Hope you have a better weekend! xx

  2. Exactly...what crying? The knicker thing...hilarious!

  3. That sounds bliss (not the crying). Getting out of the house when having a crappy one always does the trick. I wish I had the ocean nearby x

  4. That has GOT to help!

I can't find an email for you... wanted to ask if it's okay if I use one of your Tim images on my blog tonight? It's not a 'family' shot - it's the jumper / garland on the lights shot? You know, that jumpery garlandy lighty shot? If you're not happy, just email me at and I'll remove it pronto!! Thanks Emily!

  5. Wow, have you been in my head this week? My temper has been lost many times too. I felt like they were beating me,They were taking not one bit of notice. I was totally loosing control & I was wondering if there was something wrong with me. I know there is better ways. A drive in the car and music has helped. Didn't have Cat but he has done it for me many times in the past!

  6. Cat Stevens - always a winner! It's amazing how the right tune can put you in a much better frame of mind.

  7. Oh I'm hearing ya! I have taken solace in the ocean many a time, when the day has whipped my butt. I feel so lucky that I can do that, I don't know where I'd be without that coastline just down the road.
Glad you ended up on top of the day. Well done xo

  8. i am a cat stevens.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, advice and solidarity.
