Last Sunday afternoon, the Young Man and Dave did a little bit of creating. In the last warmth of the winter sun, they bonded over wood. Dave has recently hurt his ribs surfing and the thought of no water play was just too much for him. After a light bulb moment (or something) he tottered off downstairs, the little one close behind, to make himself a hand plane.
Body surfing replaced regular surfing last weekend

ReplyDeleteExcellent! Great job guys & I love that he's managed to find a way to continue with what he loves.
ReplyDelete"Man Craft" - I love it! Go Dave! My man is crafting a chicken coop right now. I'm pretty sure he would prefer the term 'building a chicken coop" but we all know it's really crafting. x
ReplyDeleteMy man would craft but sadly he didnt get the "crafty" gene ... he can however set you up a ripper spreadsheet if you need one - which apparently is VERY important.
ReplyDeleteMy poor hubbie .... he wishes he could craft.
That's so cool! Love this post :) K
ReplyDeleteGo the boys! Great to see big and small doing something together :) Hope the Man of the house heals quickly.

Oh it's fantastic to see a bit of "man craft" in the house of many women. xx
ReplyDeleteI think man crafting is quite a lost art! I have an IT geek husband who is great at putting together a computer but that's where he's craftiness stops. Well done to your man, and doubly cool that your little boy was able to hang about to be part of it. I hope they get to do lots of that together!
ReplyDeleteThe old moccasin shod foot clamp. I'm not sure thats an OH&S approved method of using a sander.
ReplyDeleteLizeylou, you crack me up EVERY TIME!!
ReplyDeleteyes, the old man crafter. I love him and that little one that looks just like him!

What gorgeous menfolk you're surrounded with!
ReplyDeleteCraftiness makes men more attractive to be sure. My man is a straight up knockout because he sews and knows his way around power tools too :)
Just replying to your comment from yesterday... After giving it a lot of thought, how does something in the $12 - $15 range sound? I had a look on etsy yesterday, and that seems to be the lower end of what people are asking for Baby Cashmerino booties. Being that you could be my first customer, I don't feel at all comfortable asking the $20 that so many were priced at (now to do more work on an etsy account!) Let me know if that all sounds Ok with you. seaweedandraine(at)gmail(dot)com
