Get In Line- Brett Whiteley

Brett Whiteley is one of Australia's most revered artists. His lyrical expressionism and lack of inhibition placed him at the forefront of Australia's avant-garde art movement. He won many prizes and awards and his work hangs in numerous galleries, including the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, the Tate Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.  (source)

Whiteley spent much of his adulthood drug dependent, referring to his heroin addiction in the Archibald Prize winning 'Art, Life and The Other Thing' (1978).

His artwork is amazing, is life was amazing, his wife is amazing.

  3. I LOVE Brett Whiteley! I went to his exhibition in the Melbourne art gallery when I was in year 11 and fell in love with all that he did. He was a great inspiration to me when I was a young art student. I would love to visit his studio one day, that would be amazing!

  4. Next time I'm in Sydney I am definitely going to his studio. I always thought it was in Lavender Bay because of the painting from there. He is the pin up of many a young female art student, perhaps because we think Wendy is so fascinating too.
